Description

About the Seminar:

The Air Quality Amendment Act’s new requirements for landlords to inspect and remediate indoor mold filled a critical gap in existing law. The District of Columbia previously lacked any statute or regulations directly addressing mold, leaving tenants with few legal remedies to force recalcitrant landlords to make repairs. This seminar will cover what the Air Quality Amendment Act of 2014 means to DC Property Managers and leasing and maintenance teams.

Seminar attendees will learn the requirements set forth by the Amendment dictating how mold is handled in the District. With detailed information on the intricacies of the new law, Shari Solomon of CleanHealth Environmental will instruct participants in these requirements including:

  • Requirements for property owners
  • Law Requirements for Hiring
  • Development of strong licensing requirements
  • Resident Rights to Inspections
  • The law and the court system
  • Costs involved with enforcement or neglect of the new amendment

Join us on Wednesday, February 8th for lunch while speaker Shari Solomon instructs attendees on what to know about the new laws and how they affect property maintenance teams.
